Left Dunedin early. Stopped at Koekohe Beach to see the Moeraki Boulders. These are large spherical boulders which fall out of the eroding cliffs. They are created when calcite cements mud, silt and clay together.
Arrived at Lake Tekapo. Our nearest neighbours – Merino sheep!

Calcite!? Spherical boulders!?! Those are the discarded shells of loggerhead turtles! You really must stop believing everything the Enzedders tell you – you’ll get more sense from the sheep! It is absolutely freezing in Edinburgh (just thought you’d like to know). Much love and jealousy xx

Gosh those sheep must be getting a bit hot. Minus 1c at East Fortune market today. Not many stalls, loads of holly wreaths, Henry bought a Wolsey jumper for £5, I bought a steak pie and on another stall 4 jars Baxter’s tomato chutney for £1 bargain or what? Down to earth as usual..yawn yawn…..
