Veseisei village

This village is believed to be the landing site of the first Fijians to the island.

The current chief of the district uses the thatched Bure to transact the community affairs. This open space is used for community gatherings and is respected by all including the children who play elsewhere.

The thatching looks so neat on these huts, so pleased you are having a great time. I have been busy making jam the last month, Rhubarb and Orange, Greengage, Crab-apple Jelly, Bramble & Apple, and this morning Marrow and Ginger. Going to the Day Centre to help over lunch so a full on day. Having a stall at the end of the month to raise funds for Riziki the childrens home in Kenya HT raised funds for a few Christmases ago.

You will be sorry to hear that Margaret Fairbairn was taken to hospital yesterday and is very seriously ill. Thought to have had a stroke.

    Love a ever Mary x
